charity campaign

Today we watched a few clips from the show 'Mary Queen of shops' Mary Portas went into charity shops and raised the awareness of what people give to charity and it shows people give away a lot of rubbish what haven't even been washed so they have to be dumped. I think its disgusting how much rubbish is given to charity and i cant understand how people can give away what they do. Now we all know how much rubbish is given to charity shops we can try to raise more awareness about it and try to get people to give away useful clothes and toys etc.

How to make felt.

Step by step guide on how to do felting.

Equipment:
  • Untreated natural died wool.
  • A plastic tray.
  • Bowl of boiling soapy water.
  • Bubble rap.
  • Friction proof mat.
How to make it.First take the untreated natural wool and gently take thin bits out and place them length ways in a tray. After you have done the bottom layer proceed to the next layer, do exactly the same thing but when you place the wool down width ways.
once you have done 3 or 4 layers you can then get your hot soapy water and pour it into the tray with your wool. Make sure all of the wool is wet, then get your bubble reap, place it on top of your wet wool and gently massage the bubble rap and the wool together.
After a while the wool should have moulded together, so when you pick it up it shouldn’t fall apart, if so get you friction proof mat and take your moulded together wool place it on the mat, get the bubble rap and start to massage again.
Soon the wool should start to get harder and you shouldn’t be able to pull them apart. Once you have done this, ring it out and set it down to dry for an hour.

what we did in drama this week

In drama on Tuesday we done our final rehearse before going to the primary school. I only realised how much our performance has changed since our first ideas, it use to be about 1 minuet long but now its nearly 4 minuets. We added a lot more to it and improved a lot, now there’s a little war scene what is the climax in the performance and added a new character called the red cross man, he’s a super hero who helps people who’s got hurt but his powers come from people donating to the red cross charity. It worked out very well and our play is longer and i have many more lines to remember lets hope it works out well.

Florida Shoe Factory

Today we went to Florida Shoe Factory to see how Van Dahl shows are made. I always tought shoes were made easly but it seems that there are alot more steps to it. It was alot more than i expected but as im not really intrested in shoes so i didnt find it very interesting but i would recormend it to someone who likes shoes.

There are alot of steps to making shoes:
  1. First theres a guy who looks though insight caterlogs (special caterlogs for shoe designers)
  2. When he decides what he wants to do he makes a theme board and draws out the design

----> altogetherhttp://www.cafonline.org/default.aspx?page=18946<---

A campaign aimed at knife crime has led to a 35% drop in knife carrying. I've got another link to a website about this drop.
---->http://news.stv.tv/scotland/west-central/207195-knife-crime-plummets-after-campaign/ <----

The main message behind this campaign.

The message to this campaign is obvious, they are trying to stop knife crime. Studying this campaign i have found out that even kids under 10 years old are carrying knives and treating people. ---->http://pakenham-cardinia-leader.whereilive.com.au/news/story/berwick-primary-school-taking-lead-with-knife-ban/ <----

The target audience of the campaign.

The target audience is anyone who wants to help or who is someone who carrys knives around with them. these people who started the campaign needs as many people to help stop knife crime. If you want top help search the campain and find out how to help.But i Think it would be better to raise awareness at primary school. So aim for younger people.
